Privacy Policy

This policy covers the information Kim’s Hair Salon collects through this website. It does not cover anything you tell us in the salon or over the phone.

What we collect, and when

We only collect information you type into a form. There are three, and they behave differently.

Booking an appointment

Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and the services, date and time you chose. We store this so we can hold your appointment and contact you about it, and we email a copy to the salon.

Sending an enquiry

Your name, email address, phone number and service if you give them, and your message. We store this so we can reply, and we email a copy to the salon.

Reserving products

Your name, contact details and the items you chose are emailed to the salon and nothing is saved to our database. Products are reserved here and paid for in the salon; this website never asks for or handles card details.

What we do not do

There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies on this site. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell, rent or share your information for marketing. We will never send you marketing email you did not ask for.

Who else can see it

These are the services that run the website. Each only sees what it needs to do its job.

• Vercel — hosts the website.
• Supabase — the database holding bookings and enquiries. Its servers are in Ireland, so this information is stored outside Canada and is subject to the laws there.
• Resend — delivers the email notifications and your confirmations.
• Sanity — stores the website’s own content, such as prices and photographs. It holds no customer information.

How long we keep it

Appointment records are kept for two years, so we have a history of your visits. Enquiries are kept for twelve months after we have answered them. You can ask us to delete either sooner.

Cancellation links

Your confirmation email contains a link that cancels that one appointment. It works without a password, so treat it as private and do not forward it.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@kimhairsalon.ca or call (604) 983-3737 and we will deal with it. If you are not happy with our answer you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

We happily cut children’s hair, but the booking form is meant to be filled in by a parent or guardian rather than by a child.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
